Mystery Date No. 2, Ann Vu

Runners

Congratulations to the winning bidder, who will go on a date with jello-shot-making, adventure-seeking, tech geek and our own BEAN Seattle Chapter VP of Programming, Ann Vu.

Ann Vu is a rare native Northwesterner and got involved in BEAN leadership in order to help others feel at home in Seattle and love it as much as she does.

Ann has very diverse tastes – she is a tomboy at heart and loves to down the whiskey with the boys, prank people, climb trees (or indoor rock climbing walls) and scrape her knees, but she also will throw on a nice dress and go to the theater. She also enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, snowboarding and volleyball, and she adores bar activities such as karaoke and trivia, as well as dancing, literature, history and theater.

Ann's passion is music of all kinds (except country); she frequently sees live music shows, checks out new bands and wishes the Seattle music scene was as vibrant as it was back in the days of grunge.  She'll chat about jazz or blues, can tell you where to find good industrial music and indie rock, and she even made a valiant effort to audition to be the Seattle Opera's Confessions of a First Time Operagoer host. Her dream job is to travel and host her own music show on the Travel channel, where she can combine eating and listening to music ... or else be a Mythbuster.

Ann's second passion is for culinary arts and eating, which should be considered a hobby. Ann is going to create a cookbook this year with some of her family's recipes that have been passed down. Ann believes that the best way to learn about another culture or person is through their food ... she likes her dishes to be diverse, well-seasoned and spicy!

Mystery Date No. 2: Aerial Circus Adventure

Fly through the air with the greatest of ease with private trapeze lessons. If you have ever considered quitting your job and joining the circus, this date is for you! Learn basic skills and techniques on rope, tissu and trapeze – you’ll be soaring with me in no time and we can pretend that we're in Cirque du Soleil.

After private lessons, we'll have have a meal in the neighborhood (somewhere in the Greenlake/Greenwood area such as the Stumbling Goat Bistro, Carmelita, Eva Restaurant, Kisaku or Dukes).

Almost anyone can try aerials! However, this may not be the best option for people with active or chronic shoulder, back, hip, wrist, or knee issues and will likely require some warmup and stretching/toning beforehand.

Get ready for an exciting escapade – why not try something new? Join me in the big top!
