Description:

FareStart is a non-profit organization that trains homeless and disadvantaged individuals for jobs in the culinary industry, empowering them to transform their lives. Every day of the year they deliver dinner to several area homeless shelters. On the weekends, when they have fewer FareStart culinary students onsite, their chefs rely on volunteer power to ensure that they can get these important meals to their neighbors in need. We will be helping with basic food preparation tasks. (Peeling vegetables, chopping, assembling lasagnas, etc.)  This event lasts from 10:30am-3:30pm, and you are asked to commit to the entire time.  Lunch will be provided.

* This event is limited to 8 volunteers.  If you wish to attend, you must sign up for the event to reserve your spot.  Please sign up only if you will be attending, and update your attendance ASAP if you cannot make it.*

The contract kitchen is located in the basement of the FareStart building.

Parking:

Street parking is available around FareStart and is free on Sundays.  There are also numerous parking lots surrounding the FareStart building that accept most major credit cards.
