OFFICERS

Without the dedication of a great team of volunteers, the activities and efforts of BEAN could not be possible. Below is just a little information about the team that runs the BEAN Seattle chapter.

The most important thing to me is being involved in my community and making a difference. BEAN has allowed me to plug in to a great network of young professionals that not only know how to have lots of fun, but are dedicated to improving the city of Seattle. I can’t wait to meet you!

I found Bean through a project I was working on for my PM certificate through UW. Once some of my time freed up I joined right away. I was born and raised here in the wonderful city of Seattle till 14 when I moved away for 10 years. During that time I lived in Pakistan (family is from there) and Baltimore, Maryland where I went to University of Baltimore for my Bachelors in International Business. Everything Washington has to offer including my huge family brought me back about 4 years. Since then I have worked at Bare Escentuals, Synthesis Architects, UW Center for Commercialization, owned an espresso stand (coffee lover right here) and now am a Business Systems Analyst (vendor) at Microsoft (love it). As I mentioned earlier I come from a large family so I spend my time with them and friends. I enjoy anything outdoors, baking and making jewelry. I’m a big fan of all the Seattle teams whether it’s the Seahawks, Mariners or Sounders playing you’ll find me rooting them on. If you ever need a buddy to go to a game, I got you covered.

I joined BEAN looking for opportunities to volunteer and to find more fun activities in and around Seattle. In 2010 I became a BEAN officer to help find and organize more volunteer opportunities for BEAN members. Outside of BEAN, I work on developing software to help users in China and Iran circumvent Internet censorship. I also volunteer as a math tutor and coach of the math club at Bellevue High School.
