VISION

BEAN members at Twist Restaurant & Lounge on 08/27/2008

BEAN was created to foster lasting personal and professional connections between people of diverse backgrounds, while contributing to the greater community, through social work and volunteering. A professional organization should do more than build business connections; it should draw together exceptional individuals with strong business aspirations and a passionate belief that with personal success comes social responsibility.

By combining exceptional people and exceptional goals, we can achieve exceptional results.

CORNERSTONES

The three cornerstones of BEAN are leadership, friendship, and service. All BEAN activities are designed with these cornerstones in mind.

Leadership
Long-term BEAN projects are designed to foster leadership skills and are lead by designated committees. Some planned projects include providing mentorship to businesses started by college students and education programs about business, engineering, and activism for middle school students.

Friendship
Whether it's making new friends or meeting new business contacts, BEAN nights encourage relationship building in a casual, loosely structured setting. BEAN nights include regular networking events and cocktail socials.

Service BEAN days allow busy professionals to contribute, no matter how much or how little time they have to give. BEAN days are days of service in which BEAN members may get their hands dirty during park restoration, or sorting tons (literally!) of food at a local food bank. BEAN day activites are meant to be diverse, with a little something for everyone.

CORNERSTONES

"We are prone to judge success by the index of our salaries or the size of our automobiles, rather than by the quality of our service relationship to humanity."
-Dr. MLK Jr.
